The Power of Letters

As our Writing in Professions class learns more about formal letter writing, I recall experiences in the past where I have taken time to write business letters. In high school, my College Preparation Composition class learned about complaints, inquiry, and compliment letters. As an added twist, we could mail our letters for extra credit. Of course I sent mine, since I wrote honest letters that included how I felt. After sealing and mailing these letters, it was a short 3-weeks and I had gotten a response from the companies. I wrote a complaint letter to the manufacturer of my screen protector on my Ipad. It wasn't a terrible protector, but there was clearly a defect in the one I had gotten. The company responded with sending me a new protector and reimbursing my original purchase. I still use their screen protectors to this day because the quality of their customer service and know they truly stand behind their products. We all have a passion for agriculture and the outdoors. But more importantly we all have a career in taking risks when working with others. First and foremost, my name is Amanda Stafford, I am serving as the team Leader. I am from Columbus, MN and am a sophomore here on campus. I am studying Agricultural Education with a Agribusiness and Agronomy minor. I am highly active on campus, serving on three executive boards, and holding office as the Minnesota PAS Secretary. The second team member is Donavan Phoenix. He is serving as our team Editor. Originally from the great southeastern town of Hayfield, MN, Donavan is another sophomore Agricultural Educ...

When I Grow Up...

As a child, my aspirations changed quite frequently. They seemed to be based on my inspirational figures in my life at the time. Through lately, I have learned they should and could reflect my personal interests and abilities. In Elementary school, I was fascinated with the TV Chef Gordon Ramsey. Today I still appreciate his work, but lack the talent and interest in perfecting creations like his. But as a child I sure did want to be a chef. As the times changed I began to admire Mr. Tatlonghari and Mrs. Becquer as great teachers. This work with children become my pastime. Teaching my sisters in "playschool" was the fun and excitement of the time. Grading papers and learning to use different online grade books was "classy." I even utilized living in St. Paul as an opportunity to make going to the Conservatory or Zoo a great field trip. Teaching even turned into leading swimming lessons at the beach and starting a sister band, where I would transpose and teach each t...
